Herman Snell, a Jackson pillar of the music scene and arts passes.

Herman Snell has passed on, September 19, 2010. He was a serious supporter of Indie Mississippi Music for as long as we can remember; and helped many groups establish a name in the Jackson Community. He was also the Director of the internationally recognized Crossroads Film Festival. Herman was the guy you went to for music....either at Crossroads or at the Jackson Free Press with "Herman's Picks." He was always "in the know," and knew "who was who" in the music scene of Mississippi. Herman was a music lover and admirer of talent. Mississippi Happening sends our love and prayers to his family and friends. We will miss you Herman. You inspired so many artists here in Mississippi.

Here is an article about Herman Snell by Donna Ladd at the Jackson Free Press
Mississippi Happening will not be posting new blogs this week to honor the life of Herman Snell.
